Gobind Sadan - 22 - Power of Naam -part 01 ( ENGLISH TRANSLATION)

Gobind Sadan - 22 - Power of Naam -part 01 ( ENGLISH TRANSLATION)
Everybody goes to religious places but they restrict themselves to bowing only. Like Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj ji said came and said what have I brought for you all? He said “Nanak de ghar keval NAM, Kalu aya NAM Bowo” (meaning – There is only and only one thing in Nanak’s house and that is NAM, Kalyug has come so sow the seed of NAM.
Guru Nanak Maharaj ji further explained or elaborated that if you recite NAM in this Kalyug, then what will happen? Actually the NAM is the only diet for Mind. Then Maharj Guru Nanak Dev ji said, “Man da dhosa har NAM hai, hriday rakho sambhal, why because “oh sada akuth hai”. Guru Nanak Maharaj ji said that when NAM is recited, then what happens is that our Mann, Mann means our thought and this word comes in Gurubani many times Example: “Mann Jeetai jag jeet” (If you conquer your Mann, you have conquered the whole universe), “Hai Mann meeraya tu sada raho har nalee” (Oh my mind, may you always stay focused on Hari/GOD).
Mann means khayal i.e. thought, and thought can be a loving thought, it can be a egoistic thought, it may also be a thought full of hatred, a thought that can lead you to do crime or some thought that may bring the feeling of doing service i.e. sewa.

Some though may motivate you to do meditation; other thought may convince you to believe that there is no GOD. So thats why, even when Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj ji came to the earth or in human form, the very first thing he explained was that “Aaat tapasaya sadhee” meaning I meditated for so long that “Mahakal kalkan radhee”. Mahakal is the one that is beyond birth and death, beyond time, beyond season. Maharaj Guru Gobind Singh ji explained that when he meditated on Paramatma/GOD, then what happened? “Dwaait ton eek ruup ho gaye”, what is Dwaait? Dawaait means two, in this context, it means GOD is separate and I am separate. Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj ji said, “Jyot rakhee tann tu jaag main aaya” (meaning: The GOD placed your Jyot first and only then you were able to come to this world or were born). We have to recognise or search for that Jyot. We shall recognise that Dharam/religion, we shall also develope such thought.
Now, when we start reciting NAM, then what will happen? As Guru Nanak Dev Ji explains, that “Mann tu jyot svaroop hann, aapna ruup pashan/pahchan” (meaning: that Oh my Mann, you are a Jyot so recognise yourself).
Once we recognise our MUUL or that Jyot i.e. our real self, then what will happen? The same will happen, as it happened with NAM Dev. Once Nam Dev was sitting in meditation, as he recognised that Jyot, he looked at the tree and said “Saab Gobind Hai” (all is Gobind/GOD, Gobind is everywhere). He looked at the earth and said the same i.e. “SAB Gobind Hai” - meaning (Gobind/GOD is everywhere).
He looked at the trees and again said “there is Gobind/God in trees. When he looked at the whole universe, again he said “Saab Gobind Hai”, but all this was when and only when he recognised that Jyot and became one with that GOD.
Similarly, when Kabir Sahib was also sitting in meditation and while reciting NAM, the MUUL/Jyot, to which Guru Nanak Dev ji had said that “Mann tu jyot saroop hann aapna ruup pshaan”. Muul means that we have Brahm/universe, we also have knowledge/wisdom inside, the GODS light and blessings inside too. All this is sitting inside us.

Ninth Sikh Guru (Shri Guru Tej Bahadur ji) also said the same i.e. “Kya ban khogan gayee, ghat is khojo phayee”, meaning – what for do you go to the forests? Search inside yourself).

The real thing is that the recitation of NAM, a lot of powers start to flow or come. When one starts to recite NAM, Bani even said to such extent that “Nam ke dharee saglee jant, Nam kee dharee Gas patal, Nam kee dharee khand brahmand” meaning – The whole universe is standing on NAM, world is standing on Nam, it’s the Nam due to which we are alive and being able to walk.
Nam is said to be everything. Why are we nowadays away from Nam, besides going to Gurudawara, Mandir, masjid. Neither anger leaves him, Greed does not leave him and attachment does not leave him either because he does not do anything except bowing.
The man does not mediate or go by Hukam. One thing to get straight in your head is that until we have that knowledge of self realisation, we can never obey the Hukam/order, why because obeying Hukam is also Gyan/knowledge.
Only those obey the hukam i.e. “Satt bachan”, on whome the GOD showers his grace and he meditates and obeys the order.
There are proofs of the above said too. Example: Millions of people use to recite RAM, at that time when Sant Kabir came on the earth but Kabir Ji use to obey the Hukam/order too.

With Kabir obeying the Hukam, Ram and Kabir became one.
Nam dev use to recite Gobind Gobind Gobind and while reciting, Gobind showed himself in everything but to Nam Dev not to everyone. Our history, our knowledge and the world today is challenging us, like today these words like Sant, Bhagat, Rishi, Darvesh, Muni are all words of wisdom. In old days (In this context being referred to Satyug), Muni was the one who becomes Bramhgayani i.e. one who had attained that self realisation.
Rishis were also Baramhgayani, but the difference between the two was that Muni does not use to get married all life whereas the Rishies use to get married but they were both Bramhgayanis.
Then in kalyug (today’s generation), the name of Sant/sage/saint came up and that to means the same i.e. Bramhgayan.
In reality, and as mentioned in Gurubani, who is sant?, The one who is liked by RAM. Only that person is a true Sant, who becomes one with RAM, and that light of RAM manifests in him.
Then Maharaj guru Nanak Dev Ji thought that anyone may say that RAM/GOD is happy with me because I love him so much. To this Maharaj ji said that the true person with who RAM is happy will be the one whose actions are in accordance to Hukam, quoted in gurbani as “ Sant and Gobind ke eeeko kam” meaning, the actions of RAM/Gobind/GOD will be same as Sant i.e. saint. The saint will, for example have the following qualities in him: Tyag/detachment, he will be Kirti/Hardworking, Love, Free/away from Greed, Free from ego, he will be fearless and Nirwair (without enemy).
Today everyone needs to recite NAM, why because our Mann is very hungry. Human being does the best of their effort to attain food and good health for the physical body.

Similarly, today our Mann is very hungry, its sick, why because it’s just running around without target. Bani says “Mann da thosa Har Nam hai” meaning, the food for Mann is only Nam and not this other food. Our body will get strong with the food, our muscles will build well and our health will be good with the food we eat but with Nam.........continued in part 2
